See the follwoing section of the Finace Act, 2011.

Section 1(2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, sections 2 to 35 shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April, 2011.

What about sections comming after section 35?

It should be the effective date , effective date means that such section/provison or ammendment/insertion/deletion to section/provisoin is effective for period belonging on or after the specified date.

But cross check it

Section 2 to 34 covers the provision of Direct taxes.

Some changes in rates of excise duty takes effect from midnight 28 feb itself and notification in this regard is issued.

And for other proposed amenments the date on which bill gets the approval is the effective date.

Dear ashish gupta, you had explained, “Some changes in rates of excise duty takes effect from midnight 28 feb itself and notification in this regard is issued”. Can you send the details of such notification (hyper link)?

What is the effective date data of Finance Act, 2012?
