NEW DELHI: Hitting out at Manmohan Singh's argument over rising rise, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said on Wednesday that the economist prime minister had failed.
"So far as price rise is concerned, the prime minister is blaming international inflation. Inflation is not high in most countries," BJP president Nitin Gadkari told reporters here.
"The (Indian) inflation is because of the faulty economic policies of the Congress party. The corruption and scams have also contributed," he said.
"The Congress has promised so many times to reduce inflation. Now he is saying he has no magic wand. If you did not have a magic wand, why did you tell people that it will be controlled," the BJP president asked.
Manmohan Singh made his comments to newspaper editors here on Wednesday.
