Hello Friends, Which books are best to do self studies for Finacial Reporting and Strategic Financial Management? My attempt is in May 2014. Now i am planning to go for some serious kind of Studies.

Sridhar is good option for sfm
Financial reporting - m.p. vijay kumar and sfm go for rajesh makkar notes
Any standard book with reputed publication is fine. the crux is that you should take it as a reference book and wherever you get stuck up in study module, just get a better clarity by referring to the book.

For financial reporting- tulsian and for sfm- s.bala are good books for self study..
SFM - J B Gupta (It is available with DVD lactures
Financial reporting - Refer class notes of any good teacher

In financial reporting plz refer classes notes of pravin sharma which is easily available in xerox shop....paper of ca final is from pravin sharma sir books.
And in sfm plz refer classes notes of dr. J.b. gupta...plz dnt go through refrence book of dr. J.b.gupta coz it is very long and boring.
Believe on me this material is suffice to u for more than 70 marks in each subject.

For Stratagic financial Management, The book of A.N. Shridhar is good but it is lenghty. Practice Manual is also enough.If you have Latest Practice Manual, then there is no requirement of other reference books in SFM.
For, Financial Reporting, M.P. Vijaykumar is best book for self study. Some small chapters are not available in this book, these chapters you can refer from Practice Manual. For, Accounting Standard, D.S. Rawat is good book.
