E&Y or Deloitte? Confused

w.r.t  pay i heard e&y is better..

but you would know that already..

if the profile is consulting ey is better..

Pros and Cons

EY - More professional, more pay, better brand name; but high work pressure, less flexibility, more late nights

Deloitte - relatively less professional because processes are not so rigid, better work-life balance, more personal considerations are made (like leave, family functions, early goin home, etc) - and obviously opposite of all above.

I have a simple rule. If you wanna do a job, go to EY...if you wanna do articleship, go to Deloitte.

E & Y is better.............in 9 of 10 field for training as well as Job.

You may analise through net surfing and their employes.

I really doubt you need reference to join AUDIT in either of the big4.

All the big4 are FOREVER short in staff for audit. Its only in other departments like Consulting that you need reference.

I just gave you a criteria list whats good and bad at both places. Decide what is important for you and how much - is career important, is work life balance important, is pay important?

 Also just to let you accept my credentials, I did my 42 months articleship at Deloitte. My two best friends were at EY so we shared all insider stories too about partners and staff and working style and stuff, thats why I know both places very well. 

If you want to do research, call up people you know personally and ask. Coz no one will write the real bad things about their workplace online.

I hv completed my B.com(hons.) from satayawati college DU...I also cleared IPCC both groups with 60.4% in my 1st eligible attempt..Cleared ICWA Inter 1St group...Have 4 months work experience as Pay Roll Executive in pvt ltd co.Still didn't get any call 4m any of the Big4..Still strugling.. I know amny a students who even don deserve to Big4 bt they got selected bcoz of bl**dy Reference..Sorry 2 say bt it z damn True

 work life balance is more imp 4 me...so i guess i shud opt for deloitte..also Tejas since u'v done ur articleship at Deloitte wanted to ask u can v change division after a year or something thru nyway???

Sorry about your fate man. I was not saying your credentials are not good. Just that in Mumbai, Deloitte and EY both have a walk-in policy for Statutory Audit interviews for Asst Manager position. Even in ICAI Campus, both EY and Deloitte wanted to hire almost 100 people each for that division. My audit team was always of just 3-4 people max which was a huge shortage always.

Also I just got somethin cleared here. I was talking about getting a JOB. Not articleship. Articleship yeah you may need reference. I was under the impression Mohit was talking about a job not articleship.

Also now that you mentioned it, just clearing out a few things for you. See... I AM NOT BEING RUDE OR INSOLENT HERE BUT JUST WANT TO BRING OUT FACTS. PLEASE TAKE IT IN THE RIGHT SENSE.

ICWA has lost importance today because CAs do most of the work of CWAs. It hardly has any value in the recruitment market. You may think about investing your time and efforts in something more valuable.

Once you do CA, even 90% in BCom is irrelevant. Also Honours doesnt mean anything in todays context if you are doing a professional degree.

Just clarifying you are looking for articleship or job?

In articleship,  you can shift divisions entirely depending on your performance and relationship with seniors. Usually it is tough but not impossible.

In job, usually its not advisable to change divisions.

I'd applied 4 articleship nd mohit was also asking about articleship...i hv no regard 4 mumbai area..I joined CWA as a side course n u cann't speak words like dat..Even u r doing CS which is a kid course in front of CA
