Pls let me know if there is any restriction in paying excise/customs duty by cash in excess of Rs.50,000/- per day as State Bank of India is reluctant to accept the same.

cash transaction in bank in excess to 50000 is subject to PAN submission and Cash Transaction Charges, its not related to customs or govt departments, u can make a Bankers Cheque and submit the same with challan for payment to bank counter, they will accept gladly.
