Duties of income tax Inspector

Income tax Inspector is deemed to be an assistant of the officer under whom he/her is posted. for example if he is in
1. Assessment posting- he will co-operate officer to in assessment, out enquiries, scrutiny reports, remand reports and most importantly in recovery.
2. investigation: Enquiry in cases and help officer to conduct search and survey.
Similarly, in case of posting with TRO, audit, TDS etc, An inspector is a helping and most important hand of the officer as well as of department.
