I am having capital gains income as well as interest for the FY19-20. the due date for filling the returns has been extended to 30th of November 2020. does it mean an extension for tax payment as well. or do I have to pay within the 31st of July 2020???

Govt has extended the date of payment of self assessment tax only those taxpayer whose self assessment tax liability is upto Rs. 1 lakh to 30th November 2020.

As per CBDT circular dated 24 th June 2020 , self assess tax more than 1 lac rupees ,you have to pay on or before 31st July 2020 . I my view you pay tax before 31st July 2020 and keep Challans with you and file return .
