Doubt with AIS for capital gain of equity share

Dear Member

1.
The purchase date of equity share is not shown in AIS statement, then how does AIS count the capital gain as short or long , meanwhile when both purchase and sale period are there, then the true situation is known whether it is a short or long term period, if under 365 days or above 365 days.

2.
it is not mandatory to furnish report for capital gain in equity share with purchase date?

1. Yes, the date of purchase remains silent, in AIS report. It has to be fetched from capital gains statements from it registrars.

2. No, unless in 'Schedule 112A', when purchased before 31.01.2018.
