Doing CS

You can't register provisionally for cs. Now you can register upto Aug 31, 2008 and you will be able to give both groups of executive programme (earlier known as inter) in june 2009. if you pass both in that attempt then you can appear for professional stage (final) in june 2010. you will also have to undergo 15 months training either after executive or professional programme as per your choice. for more details you can log on to www.icsi.edu

HI, Iam doing my CA inter, finished one group & now going to write the second group in this may. Am also doing MBA(Finance in corres); now i want to study ACS. Can i enroll for ACS now? I heard that there is some restriction like i can do only one proffesional course along with CA? How is that working? What will be the consequences if i enroll for CS now?

yes sriram as per rules of icai you can pursue only one additional course while undergoing your articleship training. thus either you can go for mba or for cs. you will have to fill form no. 112 and get the permission from the institute. one thing you can do is to get permission for cs and keep on doing mba without informing the institute. there are many who do like this. so it's your choice. Insitute is never going to know that you pursued two courses at one time but yes this is against the rules of icai. risk is yours... final decision as you wish.

In my opinion first u must concentrate on the CA final and complete it successfully in the first attempt no second thinking please. After the CA you may join additional course as per your will and wish. ALL THE BEST.....................

I have done BCom , Planning to write CPT in Dec & CS inter in June 2009, PLZ Guide me - Actually i Have registered for CS Inter around 2 yrs back but due to some reason i couldn't write this, now i have some queries, it'll be so kind if u clear them:-

1. i have old cs inter modules (2006), how to manage new ones or referred books are enough to clear CS Inter.

2.self study is ok? what do you think?

3. which postals i will have to send for june 2009 exam and what's the last date?

4. do you have any study material, notes, postals plz send me soft copy of those, it will be so kind of you.

In my opinion u should now switch over to new executive programme.  The executive programme is more easier than the old inter one plus u have still 9 months to go.  The details for switch over are:

Procedure for switchover to the new syllabus and can I revert to the old syllabus once opted for the new syllabus?

The student has to submit an application in a plain paper for switchover to the new syllabus.  However, it should be noted that once a student has switched over to  the new syllabus, he/she would not be allowed to revert to the old syllabus under any circumstances.

Will the study materials under the new syllabus be issued free of cost on switchover?

No. The Students will have to purchase the Study Materials after remitting the requisite price.  It is clarified that the Students may purchase the Study Materials even before formally switching over to the New Syllabus.

If u have strong theory base then self study will be sufficient for u.  As regards postal scheme feb 28 is last date for june exams.
