Do we have to file same ITR form for each year

Hi,

I filed ITR 3 last year as I was having salary as well as income from share market trading. But this year I am only having a salary income and do not have income from the share market. So should I file ITR 3 even this year or can I file ITR 1? Also, in ITR 3, the salary income section is not prefilled as in ITR 1.

Please guide me on this. Thank you

Quick Summary
You don't necessarily have to file the same Income Tax Return (ITR) form every year. The correct ITR form to use depends on the nature of your income during that specific financial year. If your income sources change, you may be able to switch to a simpler form like ITR-1, even if you filed a more complex one like ITR-3 previously.

You can file ITR-1 since you have only salary income.

Need not file ITR-3 every year.

ITR form depends on Nature of income

Thanks for the reply
