Why to pay more tax?  Ask the party to reconcile and send u the revised statement.

Don't keep a mis match or at year end you won't be able to reconcile any stuff and it would create a fuss so just reconcile.

You should inform the said facts to your payer of interest. They should verify their e-TDS return records and if error has been committed, they should file Form 26Q (Correction) statement.

My personal experiance says that the statement provided to you by the party will be correct. There may be some discrepency in furnishing TDS return.

You need not worry about that. Just check that whether the statement provided by them (your own records) matches with Form 16A. If it matches, rest is the responsibility of the party. Your books are tallying with TDS certificate, your compliance is over. However, if you have good & sound relations with the party, you can intimate them on phone mentioning about the same.

Dont keep the error pending at your end. My suggestion to you is to bring this to the notice of the company which has issued you the certificate. All probable resons for such a difference would be an error in the filing of TDS returns by the company.

Clarify with them rather than keeping quiet about the whole thing as you are nowhere in fault.
