Hello,

I am filing ITR for 2015-2016 (AY 2016-2017), my income is from the following:

eCommerce payments from eBay, Amazon for selling items and I have some investment in stocks (share market) and some investment in a local private company.

Gross receipts would be around 40,00,000 INR and my investments are 4,00,000 and 3,00,000 respectively.

I do not have any property, or any other asset. I do not have any professional income for the mentioned year.

In this case, can I file ITR-4S?

Thank you for your time.

Best regards.

Yes you can.

Thanks for the simple reply.

I am confused by this article: /articles/difference-between-itr-4s-or-sugam-and-itr-4-24276.asp

It says, a person with capital gains is not eligible to file under ITR-4S. Can you please clarify?

Regards.

You did not mention that you have capital gains , you just said that you have some investments in shares. If there are capital gains also then you must file itr4  and if you are only holding investments without any gain or loss then you can file itr4s.
