Whether deduction can be claimed for Cataract Surgery in case of a salaried employee?

The tax deduction under section 80D is available over any premium on mediclaim policy
There are four different types of deductions that can be claimed u/s 80D. They are:
- Tax deduction on health insurance premium paid for you & your family
- Tax deduction on health insurance premium paid for your parents
- Tax deduction on preventive health checkup expenses
- Tax deduction on medical expenses of super senior citizens
So, it doesn't help directly for deduction of expenses for any surgery; but through mediclaim policy, provided policy covers the term.
