is it necessary to levy tax in debit note..??

yes , if original invoice is taxed so tax input claimed to be reversed via debit note
@ Naveen , if material is of inferior quality and qty is not reversed , in that case also, we have reverse the tax amount..??
If invoice received with tax on goods and services then Debit / Credit note will be the same way...
