Datails of amount transferred from pf account

Hello Friends !!

I have a query regarding PF withdrawal. One of my friends have recently closed his PF account funded by his previous employer. The lumpsome amount has been transferred to his bank account. But he has not received any details in respect of total contributions made, total interest credited and TDS, if any, made at the time of such transfer. On assessing the said PF account now, it says that the account has been settled. Is there any way to find out such details?

Is it not required to know the total amount of interest credited and TDS thereon at the time of final settlement of a PF account for ITR filing purposes?

Waiting for the replies..

Thanks in advance

In my view, usually the employer gets the annual statements of PF contributions which includes the interest amount and final balance at the year end, which should be given to employees. Check the same with your employer whether they have received such. Else, you may write to the concerned Regional PF Commissioner office requesting for the statement, if your friend claim is not more than 30 days old and wait for the statement for around 2-3weeks.

It is not possible now to ask the previous employer for the statement.

The PF office is supposed to give a statement of your PF account to your employer every year, and your finance / accounts department is supposed to hand that over to you. But many employees never get this yearly statement. 1st check your document which you got from your employer.

Don't need to ask your previous employer.

You can get your PF account details at: https://www.epfindia.com/MembBal.html

In case, you are not happy with status of your withdrawal/refund application, you may contact EPF office. You may find address/phone number on this link: https://www.epfindia.com/epfo_directory.htm

If they also do not listen, launch a complaint on this website: https://epfigms.gov.in/
