Hi,

In the 2011 budget the govt. reduced excise to 1% from 10% on sanitary napkins. However customs and excise duty are different. So what is the customs duty on sanitary napkins? Is the same as last year-10% or is it 1%?

mr. vishal ji,

please noted that this item occurs in RITC HS CODE NO. 56011000

AT PRESENT CUSTOM DUTY :-

BASIC 10%, ACD4%, CESS0.30 TOTAL DUTY IS 14.712(AS PER CUSTOM IMPORT TARIFF 2010-11)

AND FROM 01.04.2011 IT WIL BE EFFECTIVE 1% .
