Custom limit

Hello,

I am planning to buy a watch from a website in US which costs US$ 213 (about INR 12,000). Will any custom taxes be applicable on this? If yes how much would it be ? Any ideas? Is there a minimum limit value in such cases?

Regards

Hi,

Sorry to get back to you again on this. I checked ebay forum, but some people have mentioned that they had to pay customs on purchase from Ebay US for similar amounts.  Plus I found this, dont know if this is relevant or not.

Dear, After Modification,  Custom Duty is Taken by Postal Shipment Agency Only.

dear Ayush,

Just for my understanding , under which customs notification on line purchase are exmepted and  upto what limit.?. pl send the notification to this effect

MY OPINION ,

WRIST WATCHES ARE CLASSFIED UNDER HSN 9102 ATTRACT FULL RATE OF DUTY I.E 28.84%.  CVD IN THIS CASE WILL BE CHARGED ON MRP LESS ABATEMENT @ 30%.

MRP WILL BE BASED ON THE NORMAL SALE PRICE OF SUCH WATCHES IN INDIA.

If the value is less than INR 10, 000/- the custom duty are not levied.
