The ICSI will be conducting OMR based examinations for Cost and Management Accounting, Tax Laws and Practice and Industrial, Labour and General Laws for executive programme students who are covered under the new syllabus. It means that the descriptttive type will be replaced by objective type questions. It is under offline mode only. So, there is no need to study each and every definition byheart in case of ILGL as options will be given and we need to choose the right one. So, just understand the concepts by reading once or twice diligently. In case of problem papers, it will be a mixture of both theory and practical problems. The practical problems won't be very lenghty as in case of descriptttive type. So, don't skip any portion. Read everything because questions can be asked in between the lines. They have not specified about the distribution of marks, negative marking and all. So, let's wait and see.

The format of OMR based exam for the executive programme papers have been uploaded in the website of ICSI. In the specimen of OMR sheet, you can see under the head Instructions for Candidate: There is no negative marking. On the top of the question paper, you can see: Attempt all questions. Each question carries 1 mark. There is no negative mark for incorrect answers.

Thanks for clearing the doubt
