I am doing CA (IPCC) and want to do CS as well..

1) What's the  date of registration for CS and where I can get form ?

2) When would be my attempt due ?

3) Is there any benefit or exemption to students who have completed graduation (BCA) ?

4) Do I need permission from ICAI under Form 112 ?

Schedule for the year 2010 with regard to various Cut-Off Dates for services pertaining to Students

It is noticed that every year, certain  cut-off dates relating to  acceptance of Registration/ Admission / Examination Enrollment Applications to the CS Course coincide with Gazetted Holidays/ Bank Holidays, etc.  thus creating hardships to the student community.  As per practice, the Institute has been granting relaxation on such cut-off dates to the students as a special case and publicising such details well in advance to avoid  any confusion at the end of the students as well as the Regional Councils and Chapters.

For the year 2010, the status of various cut-off dates have been compiledwhich is furnished hereunder : -

Yes, B Com graduates can pay Rs.7000 and register for CS executive level. Form 112 with ICAI is required only if you are doing articleship. It is available at ICAI website itself for free download. That you should send within 30 days of joining CS course or starting your articleship, whichever later, else you have to pay the condonation fee, of 100, 300 or 1000 as the case may be.

^^ I am eligible for exemption or not ??

Graduates from any field are eligible for exemption. Only registration fees varies. Commerce students: Rs.7000 & non commerce students: Rs.7500

^^ Ok...Thanks !!

Hello Friend,

As per my suggestion with CA you should go for CS to grab top opportunities at management level. CS is a very good combination with CS as far as course content and understanding the corporate environment is concerned.

If you are having CS qualification then it would be counted as an additional advantage and you can easily and confidently handle or administer secretarial work/department along with the account work/department.

This advice is based on my professional experience. Hope this would be off some help. Other courses are also good. But my vote goes for CS as according to me CS qualification is the gate pass for top management position.

PERMISSION TO STUDY OTHER COURSE

The articled / audit trainee cannot pursue any other educational or professional course during the period of articleship training except with the prior permission of the Institute.

Permission may be granted to an articled / audit trainee for pursuing one additional course of

study at a time during the period of practical training.

However, the Council has granted general permission to trainees to pursue graduation course concurrently with Chartered Accountancy Course by students who have passed the Foundation Examination, as under :-

(i) That articled/audit assistants having joined the CA Course after passing the Foundation Examination shall generally be permitted to pursue graduation course concurrently with the CA Course without obtaining specific previous permission of the Council under Regulations 65 and 78.

(ii) That an articled/audit assistant pursuing graduation course concurrently with the CA Course shall not be permitted to join any other course until he/she completes his/her graduation course.

(iii) That for pursuing any other course of study (other than graduation course) the previous permission of the Council through filing of form 112 shall have to be obtained by the articled/audit assistants in accordance with Regulations 65 and 78.

Form 112 is required to be submitted within 30 days of joining the course with the recommendation of the principal, failing which you have to go for condonation of delay in non-submission of form.

Thanks

Thanks all for the help  :)
