We fall under compulsory e invoicing provisions. Is e invoicing necessory to be done for credit debit notes as well??
If yes, what if we have not prepared e invoice for the same?

Yes, E-Invoicing is for tax invoices, debit notes and credit notes.
There could be a penalty of 10,000 per invoice/note.

Debit Note: Issued when there's an increase in the invoice amount due to reasons like a change in the price or quantity of the supplied goods or services after the transaction.
Credit Note: Issued when there's a decrease in the invoice amount due to reasons like a change in the price or quantity of the supplied goods or services after the transaction.
For taxpayers falling under mandatory e-invoicing, these notes should be generated through the e-invoicing portal, especially when there are changes in price, quantity, refunds, free samples, or discounts after the initial transaction.
