Confusing cost statement but simple

Three friends went to a Hotel and took three rooms @ Rs.100 each.

Total bill came to Rs. 300.

A discount of Rs. 50 was given to them.

Room boy returned this money to three friends.

Three friends gave Rs. 20 of this as tip and divided Rs 30 (ie. Rs. 10 each ) among them.

Now expense incurred by each of them will be Rs. 100-10 = 90.

Total Room Rent incurred: 90 X 3 = 270
Tip given                              : 20 X 1 =    20
Total Expenditure                                 290

Now Rs. 300 was the bill. Expenses incurred were Rs. 290. Now Rs. 10 is missing.

Can you find it?

In the above statement Rs.20 was added to Rs.270.....

But Rs.20 is already included in Rs.270..... So it is incorrect to add these two and say Rs.10 is missing......

Actual Expenditure spent = Rs.250 + Rs. 20 = Rs.270......

It cannot be compared with Rs.300 because it is not the actual expenditure.........It's just a trick.....

The classification for Rs.300 is

Hotel Room   =   Rs. 250

Tip                =    Rs.  20

Discount       =    Rs.  30

So, there is no missing Rs.10......

It is just the framing of the question which creates confusion........ devil

You are very good, Raghu Ram...
