Condonation

Respected Expert,to file a ITR of F.Y.2019-20 after due date with penalty there is a need to send condonation request. But I am not able to submit it online. Please tell me the procedure or alternative way.
Due to arrears, the income is nearly 20 lacs and a tax relief under section 89 (1) has taken but not filed ITR and hence 10 E form also not submitted.Due to this,to avoid future complication my staff member want to file the ITR with penalty.

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to file an Income Tax Return (ITR) for FY 2019-20 after the due date, requiring a condonation request. The user is unable to submit this online and seeks guidance. The recommended procedure involves obtaining approval from the jurisdictional Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT) via a letter before filing the return, even with a penalty. This is necessary due to a significant income and a Section 89(1) tax relief claim, which also requires the submission of Form 10E.

File online and select condonation of delay u/s 119(2)(b) from the drop down menu

You have to apply by letter for condonation to jurisdictional CIT and get approval. Thereafter you can  file.

Yes, first of all get approval from CIT then you are able to file. I forgot to mention the point

Thanks Sir
