Claiming medical expenditure for Senior Citizen who has health insurance

Tax queries 501 views 3 replies

Dear Sir,

Can I claim the medical expenses under 80D of my mother who is a senior citizen and needs some medications for her blood pressure and thyroid, when I have medical insurance for her? The medical insurance is beneficial only in the case when she is hospitalized for 24 hours or more.
