Claim for medical expenses under i.t. act

Dear Expert

Please Clarify

I work with a Private Company and in April 2013  I have spent Rs.227000/- towards Medical treatment of my Mother in corporate hospital the element is covered u/s 80DDB

My employer Reimbursed an amount of Rs.160000/- and shown the same as Perquisite while computing my salary and added the same to My salary income

what is deduction availble to me Rs.227000-160000 i.e 60000 or total 227000

Please clarify

sec. 80ddb allows you to claim deduction of 40000 (60000 in case of senior citizen) irrespective of the amount actually spent.
