cenvat credit of a purchases made pre-excise reg period

Hi All ,

I am Rohan I have query on Central Excise - Our company has recently got registration under Central Excise [ECC] on 20/11/20009 Now we have many purchases before registration from 01/04 - 20/11/2009 Most of them are charged with excise duty, can i avail Modvat of the Duty paid for such purchases, is there any provision in Excise to take set off of the same. Do revert back ASAP
