Dear all

Kindly tell me whether i can take cenvat credit, (of excise duty ) under cenvat credit rules on the communication cables used all over the plant for connection of computers for the controlling on production cables and for the intercom system ?

it would be better if some case law will be cited

if cable is used or related to the production excise duty can be availed.

Hai this is GIRI, Fire fighting goods in manufacturing company are considered as Plant & Machinery, since these are Capital Goods, so you can avail Cenvat under RG 23C. With Warm Regards Giri.CH Hyderabad

Yes, U can avail CENVAT CREDIT. U need to prove that the cables that U are using forms the part of ur input or part of ur capital goods. I think this is not difficult to prove in ur case.

for availing cenvat dredit first of all u reqd. to determine whether the goods is covered under input goods. As per the definition, input goods are those goods used directly or indirectly in the manafacturing . so the cables are admissible for cenvat credit.
