Manufacturing activity is in the negative list so no Service Tax is leviable on new furniture,however service in relation to the repairing activity may attract Service Tax.

Thanks for the reply but my doubt is still there...can you please let me know that Repairing activity does not fall under labour charges???

It will depend on the service provider to explain to Dept and service receiver why it has taken registration under a particular taxable category of service where the services overlap each other.
