Is GST applicable on car insurance claim received.???

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether Goods and Services Tax (GST) is applicable when receiving a car insurance claim, particularly when the repair cost exceeds the sum assured. The consensus suggests that GST is indeed applicable on the repair bill, which is then reimbursed by the insurer. While the insurance company doesn't typically issue a separate invoice for the claim payout itself, the original repair invoice would have included GST. It's noted that the insurer covers 75% of the repair cost, with the policyholder responsible for the remaining 25%.

Yes ........
The insurance amount is received when insurer submit the Bill of repair to insurance company & GST is applicable on repair.
I have a insurance on car. Repair cost exceeds 75% on sum assured. So my car has been taken by insurance company and reimbursed the amount of cost i e:75%.
Here my question is whether gst is applicable on received amount or not. Uf applicable whenever it is RCM or Forward CHARGE.? Insurance company does not gave any invoice for that. Please explain in detail..
At the time of receiving the insurance claim no need to pay RCM as GST has already been paid at the time of paying the insurance premium and invoice has been raised.

Agreed with Mr. Yash. Invoice given by repair service station would have GST, although, practically 75% of the invoice will be in Insurance Co. name, and 25% in your name, to enable credit flow appropriately.
