Capital gain - invest both 54ec & 54f

Dear Sir,

If I sell a residential flat and suppose my capital gains comes to around say 50 lacs, can I invest the capital gains of 50 lacs in both i.e 25 lacs in 54EC 3 year bonds of NHAI/REC and 25 lacs in buying a new residential flat for availing exemption?

My understanding is one can invest capital gains realised upto a limit of 50 lacs in 54EC bonds within 6 months from the date of sale of the flat.

Want clarification if I can invest the capital gains in both 54EC and 54F as per my example above?

S.S,

Mumbai

Yes, you may invest your LTCG in a new residential property u/s 54 as well as in bonds u/s 54EC, both. But you are required to deposit in the bonds within 6 months from the sale.
