Hello Friends,

I am CA final student.

It is my humble request to you all that please let me know, What is the procedure of cancellation or surrender of Service Tax Number without opting for provisional GST number???

One of our client has discontinued his service. I want to cancel Service Tax Number so what is the best way of procedure to cancel / surrender ST number without opting for GST number.

you are requested to be guided by the Trade notice no. 40/ 2013-ST DTD 17.02.2014 wherein procedure for surrender and cancellation available. in general, below are required.
An online application to surrender the registration to be filed and below documents to be submitted to superintendent along with print out of the application generated by ACES System.

1. application and undertaking to surrender the ST registration.
2. copies of last six ST -3 returns.
3. copies of the Balance sheet and P&L along with ITR for the last 3 years
4.Details of the show cause/ demand/ cases/audit conducted etc..
5. ST registration certificate.

up on submission, generally officers asks for the reconciliation between P&L and ST-3. so pls prepare the same also.

Dear Sir,

Thanking you for guidance.

As you said earlier that "An online application to surrender the registration to be filed...."

Assessee can surrender the registration number online using www.aces.gov.in . After log in with User ID and Password under the option REG as soon as STA goes to surrender of Service Tax number and selects the service tax number already prefilled for surrender the form for surrendering service tax registration ie. ST-2 is displayed and the STA has to furnish only the reason for surrender or cancellation of service tax registration and submit online.

But When I login to client account I dont get option of surrender in REG tab.

In that situation, What is to do?
