hi, some one please help me regarding the closing procedure of kerala vat registration. i want to cancel my registration. when i enquired in the sale tax office they told me to do it online. i cant find anything like that in their site. can anybody please help me in doing it.

Before submitting online application for stoppage of business you have to clear out the stock if any in balance in your books of accounts- which means you have to remit the tax due against the stock existing at the time of closure of business, if you had availed Input Tax Credit on your purchases.There's one more option to reverse the tax.
For submitting online application for cancellation of registration:- Log into your account in KVATIS (www.keralataxes.gov.in) and click on the "Online Applications" option. Then click of "Application for Amendments in Registration Details" and type the details regarding closure of business specifically mentioning the date from which the business is closed. Save it.. then submit.
