Q)  in a game of cricket there are two batsmen playing let it be "a" and "b". batsman"a" is on 98 runs and batsman"b" is on 94 runs.both wants to score a century.but a problem is that their team requires only 3 runs to win the match and balls left are only 2. batsman"a" is on strike.then also they both make century how?

Two balls are left. so on the first ball, batsman “a” hits the ball and gets three runs. but the umpire signals one run short. so only two runs are counted and batsman “b” comes on strike as both of them have crossed. so batsman “a” completes his century. and on the last ball batsman “b” hits a sixer and scores his 100. thus they wins the match and scores century..

I think it is not possible for both the batsmen to make century considering there are only two balls left and three runs to win. Suppose if 'a' scores 2 runs on the first ball then he will again be on strike on the last ball. And if 'a' scores 1 run then 'b' can score a century by hitting 6 on the last ball but 'a' wont be able to do it then.

Please post the answer, if it is possible.

sananka, u made it right but then there is always a dependency on the happening or non happening of that event. there is no clear possiblity otherwise.

they must go for a 3 in the first ball, in between that without completing 1 run, that is,either of the batsman must not enter the crease, while running for the  1st run or 2nd run, so that A gets 2 run to score century and at the same time B gets the strike, thereafter in the second ball B must go for a SIX, so that he can score a century, and their team wins
