Can i nominate a retired doctor as a director

Hi,

I am starting my new healthcare company and thought I should nominate a couple of non-voting retired Doctors and university Medical Professors as board members, so that they could help me in strategy and also could help lifting  integrity of the company when I approach various stake holders.

However I am not sure what Corporate Law rules to follow so that we don't have any issues going forward.  Also do these non-voting directors should have their DIN no?

Please anyone can help me with some ideas?

Appreciate your replies.

Thanks, Susmitha

Hii Sushmita

There is no specific educational qualification or expertise required for becoming a director of a Company. However the AOA of some companies stipulates for obtaining the qualification shares by the directors, which should be complied.

Yes before incorporating a company, you need to obtain DIN for the directors followed by name approval of the proposed company and filing of incorporation documents with ROC within the stipulated time.

Please let me know, if you need any further help on incorporation.

Thanks & Regards

Priya
