Can i cancel 2008-09 q1 tds return-how

I have to file a correction return for Q1 of 2008-09 immediately . For filing correction return I do not have sufficient and correct data. There is no chance of getting the same.

The records that are to be added are more in No. than that are filed in he original return.

Now Can I Cancel the original return and file a fresh return.

My doubt is those Deductees those who are covered in the original return must have got credit .... How will that affect. ( Of course though I am not going to delete them will the software accept for such things. will it amount to doing 1 more mistake to cover up what is already done.)

Firstly I would like to inform u that henceforth for correction of return, deductor has to request for consolidated TDS statement from NSDL site. So, first register for TAN by visting the website https://onlineservices.tin.nsdl.com/TIN/JSP/tds/RegisterTan.jsp

After registering, you can get consolidated TDS return filed with NSDL for Q1 of 2008-09.

I suggest that instead of cancelling the return, you revise the return by requesting tds statement from NSDL. For more details visit the website https://www.tin-nsdl.com/online-tan/onlinetan-overview.php
