Can I ask my employer to deduct less tax, if I purchased a car and paid TCS

Tax planning 489 views 10 replies

I purchased a car on June 23 and paid around 14k TCS for it. I doubt whether I can submit its TCS certificate to my employer, like we submit other declarations like insurance or ppf receipts for 80C, so that they count this TCS amount as advance tax and deduct less tax from my salary as per the amount. Is this the right approach, or should I claim it later during the ITR filing?
