Can I ask my employer to deduct less tax, if I purchased a car and paid TCS

I purchased a car on June 23 and paid around 14k TCS for it. I doubt whether I can submit its TCS certificate to my employer, like we submit other declarations like insurance or ppf receipts for 80C, so that they count this TCS amount as advance tax and deduct less tax from my salary as per the amount. Is this the right approach, or should I claim it later during the ITR filing?

Quick Summary
This discussion explores whether an individual can ask their employer to deduct less tax from their salary by submitting the Tax Collected at Source (TCS) certificate from a car purchase. While some suggest it might be possible with closely held small companies, the general consensus is that it's not the standard approach. The recommended method is to claim the TCS amount later during your Income Tax Return (ITR) filing.
