Quick Summary
The discussion clarifies that employers are legally bound to contribute a fixed rate, typically not exceeding 12%, to the EPF. While employers cannot increase their contribution beyond this limit, employees have the option to contribute more than 12% through a Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF) account. It's advised to confirm the current employer contribution rate with the PF Department.

No , employer can not contribute more than 12,% , it's fix contribution . however employee can contribute more 12% in VPF account instead of EPF account .
But i think it is min rate that employer has to contribute
You have to check current employer contribution rate fixed by the P F Department and it's minimum contribution is required .Just confirm employer's contribution rate as on today .
