Can a C.A. become an IAS ?

The answer is yes.  Where there are hundreds trying to inspire and motivate themselves to prepare for the UPSC exam , there are hundreds who don't even know what UPSC exam is all about . So , this is for all those who have not yet known what UPSC exam is .
The Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC ) is India's central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination , Engineering Services Examination , Combined Defence Services Examination , National Defence Academy examination , Combined Medical Services Examination , Special Class Railway Apprentice , Indian Economic Service / Indian statistical service examination , Geologist's Examination and Central Armed Police Forces ( Assistant commandant ) Examination . Out of this whole chain of examinations held by the UPSC  the Civil Services Examination is the first to hit the rank . It is one of the most prestigious examinations in the world of success . Historically it has been sought career by young and talented individuals and it has not lost its prestige value admist the recent popularity of IT and management careers. This examination is also commonly known as the IAS Exam or the UPSC exam .
For an illustrious career in civil service this is the place you should stop by . The UPSC exam is a common entrance exam for the services of the central level like Indian Administrative Service , Indian Foreign Service , Indian Police Service , and Indian Revenue Service , etc .  All these services enjoy social reputation , provisions to a luxurious living , and precisely money in high denominations and power . The minimum eligibility criteria for the UPSC exam is that a candidate should be a  graduate or a diploma in any field and should be 21+ to 32years of age , this age limit is only applicable for the general candidates , whereas for the SC/ST/ OBC candidates the age limit is kept as 35 years of age. The number of attempts are limited to 6 for the general candidates , 7 for the OBC candidates  and unlimited for the SC / ST candidates .  This exam consists of 3 phases - the preliminary level , the mains , and the interview round . The preliminary level consists of 2 papers ,namely general studies and general aptitude , each of them carrying 200 marks . The papers are objective type with multiple choice of questions . Then comes the mains , this round consists of 7 papers where one of the paper gives the provision of an optional subject ( a choice is to be made out of the 26 subject choices provided ) .  This is followed by the interview round where you indeed need much of confidence.
Well, if all of this sounds unaccomplishable to you then you are wrong indeed ! The UPSC exam is not like any university exam , it mostly consists of the 10th and +2 standard syllabus , and very importantly general awareness . Now, this is something we all lag behind . So , it is very important that aspirants cope up with their general awareness of both international and national importance .
Students often fear of competitive examination , especially when it comes to UPSC exam. There is a pervasive blunt idea amongst the students who more or less claim to know about UPSC exam that it is the toughest examination on the Earth , and it is next to impossible to crack . This idea is mostly rumored and inculcated in the students mind to set back a couple of potential of them . Well, for those who are  victimized by the same , let me tell you that if things are seen in the way of impossible then nothing can be achieved . If you have  the motive , the purpose , the focus , and the willingness for the endeavours to be put in it , then nothing can be made impossible. A bit of perseverance , hard work , commitment is what you need to get through any exam of life. For all those frightened candidates here's an example for you - an IAS  topper who failed class VI . Rukhmani Riar who did not believe in coaching and cracked the exam in her first attempt and stood 2nd in the rank in the whole of India -UPSC exam. Thus, nothing's impossible if you believe in yourself ,and you got the apt and willingness for it .

Recently, Government revised the age limit. Now it's 28 or 26 for general.
No. For general the Age limit is 32yrs or 6 attempts whichever is earlier
No concession for CAs .There are many CAs who successfully cleared IAS exam and heading Govt. Departments.CA IASs are better administrator because of their professional background.

@ CA SAMARES MITRA JOINT

As per the recent MoU signed between ICAI and UPSC there is no such special concession given to C.A./C.S./ICWA. The only relaxation given is the degree of ICAI will be considered equivalent to a graduate degree for eligibility criteria purpose. Attaching herewith the hyperlink of the MoU-
