The Penamaluru Police booked a case against Superwhizz CA Coaching Institute management in connection with the suspicious death of a student, Y.V. Harshavardhan Reddy (20).

He reportedly died by jumping from the college building on Friday.

The police registered case against Superwhizz (Kanuru branch) supervisor Murali, coordinators Vijay, Pramod and Karthik, under Section. 306 of IPC (abetment to suicide) on Saturday.

Harshavardhan Reddy, a native of Ongole town, was taking coaching in the institute at Kanuru.

However, the boy’s father, Y. Ramana Reddy, in his complaint alleged that the supervisor and the coordinators had an argument with his son for not attending classes on May 30 and pushed him from the parapet wall of the building, causing his death.

Penamaluru Circle Inspector K. Dharmendra said the police recorded the statements of the eyewitnesses (other students), who said that the staff chided the victim for skipping classes.

Harshanvardhan, who took it as an insult, resorted to the extreme step. But, no arrests have been made in the case so far, the CI said.

Meanwhile, members of Students Federation of India (SFI), CPI (M) and Congress activists staged a dharna in front of the Government General Hospital (GGH) demanding action against Superwhizz management.

They insisted the police book the culprits immediately. The traffic was stalled for some time when the protestors staged a sit-in on the National Highway No.5.

Police dispersed the people and took a few protestors into custody.

Later, the body was handed over to family members after post-mortem

Yes...Its Really very sad news... frownfrown

nd dis is happened in my city nd my college is another sad news to me....frownindecision

It is rather a very tragic and unfortunate incident. There has to be a proper investigation into the matter and justice must prevail, if the coaching academy is guilty then stringent action be taken against it and this must set an example for all other coaching academies throughout India.

My heart goes to the family members of Harshavardhan Reddy. I Pray god, that the almighty give the family, the strength to overcome the tragic loss of their loved son.

Let his soul RIP.

The caption in Hindu"Four CA institute staff booked for student’s death" sounds incorrect .

They should have rather mentioned "CA Coaching Institute". nonono

VERY BAD AND SHAMEFUL NEWS.......

RIP

sad

Unfortunately it was not first time a student died like this, earlier incidends just did not come out. I have gut feeling that this incident will be undermined just like many incidents involving deaths of students in corporate intermediate colleges. It's just over hype, these people come into CA without basic knowledge of CA course, it's mental demands. CA isn't a course for weak minded(no offence) for sure, another important aspect here is not even half of new CPT students know that taking these 'classes' is not mandatory and is purely at their discretion. Last night I talked to a girl, I had to struggle to make her realise that no course in the world is a 'Job guaranty' course, it all depends on us.

Can't atleast a PIL be filed against this massive Educational Advertisements? If anyone knows a way to do it, kindly let me know.

Sorry yaar, it's not a college, please come out of that mind set, these are commercial tution points, college is a word which these institutes are not worthy to be called as.

Unfortunate they dupe students by telling this is CA college. Which is a complete farce and erroneous. Think there must be clear instructions in the CA Prospectus to convey the point at pertinent places about the course and objectives.

But, I know there will be some evil and commercial minded beasts which play with the life of the students. Can the life of this poor guy be brought back, whatever be the provocation ? What is professionalism, if you are not in a position to guide the students on the right path and advise them to take right course of action. These people will wash their hands off by playing with the prevailing justice system of our country to say, they had no role to play in the fiasco.

The coaching thing is really getting out of hand...The recent hype created by promoting CA as a career and by glorifying and overstating the abilities of CA, is leading to a situation where even more bad things will happen...I know some senior CAs who committed suicide because of some negligence issue in their work... My foremost concern is that even when insitute is trying to bring efficiency and transparency in its system, still ethics part of it is being neglected. I don't need to explore this subject as we all know what is happening..Once such factor is coaching...I do not think that 22-23 is age of maturity and that people of that age will be able to understand the importance of ethics in our field...As of today, I feel that we are doomed to act and behave in future just as our Doctors are doing currently, through malpractices of severe levels, like female child foeticide, impure blood transfusion etc.

When I entered as a student, the atmosphere was not like this and I hope situation takes a u-turn or else be ready to find CA as a profession to loose its shine.

Average students like me will suffer in future since the enrolment figures in this profession are rising and people like me will have to either learn to learn hyper-sonic'aly'  fast or look elsewhere. A person getting 50 to 80% throughout his life is more than likely to find himself at sea when faced with competition from students who have not been below 90% through out their life...

All said and done, its that hype that attracted us to this profession in the first place, not that we will earn bucket loads of money...we wanted to learn and grow and become a professional of real value. I hope that this fact which is true even today remains and do not change its nature.

I can only say that when you are feeling down and have lost all the confidence in your abilties and figting spirit, just give yourself one night and resolve after waking up to change or reverse the situation. You should not die a looser and nothing is worst than loosing your 'COMPOSURE' when faced with adverse situation..Smile like a donkey and trust your abilties...Now I do remember here '3 Idiots'

I wonder he forgot that 'All iz well' part when he took such a fatal decision.

The hype of CA will never be able to match as that of IIT or IIM or IAS/IPS, I wonder how many broken hearts there will be.

There is a emergenncy type situation in Andhra Pradeh. Our ICAI should control the six CA institutes from misleading students with wrong information. Mostly MXXXXR MXXXS, SXXXXWXXZ, SXX MXXXX V, SXX MXXXA, and two other Private MPC colleges who recently joined their hands to earn more and started CA Academies.

They are spending lakhs in advertising, sponsering TV Programs. So think how much they are earning from students. Which will finally put pressure on students. One fellow accredited himself as "India's leading CA College". We don't know who has given. The same is offering CA Course for Rs.1,50,000/- and "PASS or FEE BACK" Package.

ICAI should start its own colleges or give permission  to one or two colleges and restrict the others from using the word  CA.

By seeing, reading their false advertisements, lakhs of people are spoiling their careers.

Its really very sad to see the death of One CA Student in Vijayawada's leading CA College. May his soul rest in Peace and his family should be compensated highly.

ICAI, Please think of these and HELP YOUR STUDENTS.

Even i surrised alot after viewing that package programme..

Oh my g od! they are tellin come , Join in CA with us pay us Amount if you not passed we will repay to you..

Who will repay his life and his time?

So Shocking! We all professional must pay tribute to that student.... :( :(

This is indeed a very sad and heart breaking news.

It is fact that coaching institute success is dependent on the performance of its students. But at the end of the day a student is a human being and I do not understand the logic of putting unnecessary pressure on students by parents or teachers.

We all must appreciate the fact that CA or CS is not a pressure cooker and slowly but steadily a student can make his/her career in such professional fields.

I Pray god, that the almighty give the family, the strength to overcome the tragic loss of their loved son.
