Ca scope in coming 8 years

Dear All,

I am Kalpesh, I have completed my bachelors degree in B.com and Masters Degree in MBA with HR specialization.

I wanted to pursue CA during my college days but could not opt for CA due to personal reasons. I am 26 years old. Currently I am working as a recruiter in a consulting firm but I am not very much interested in HR field.

I want to become a CA now and would like to start its preparation asap. But I am worried about its scope in coming years . I will complete it approx at the age of 34/35 and I am not sure if the market conditions will be favorable for CA . I will be putting my efforts and 6-7 years for its successful completion. Please help me get a clear idea of what should be a possible solution to my problem.

I really need professional guidance

you should first think about whether ca is really a passion for you or not. dont take it in a sence that i wanted to do it or wished to do it. second think about the long journey and effort i.e. 3 year articleship, coaching needed, struggle required etc. then think wisely. also think about other options that require less effort compared to ca. further think about your social aspects also. and decide. the best decision will depend to you. all the best.

It has already become a normal course.

.

so now you can guess how its scope will be after 8  years.

Hello Sir

I did not fully understand the meaning of your sentence "It has already become a normal course. . so now you can guess how its scope will be after 8 years"
Can you please explain it to me in detail. Thanks in advance.
Dear Shanavas Sir,

CA is my only passion. I am a recruiter and working as a full time employee. My job timimgs are 1.30 PM to 10.30 PM (Indian Zone) with Saturday Sunday off. I can utilize morning timings for coaching classes and Saturday Sunday for self study. I will put my best every time. Please guide me whether these efforts are sufficient or I should quit from this option. By the month of Dec 2013 I am going to marry. I need to sacrifice my domestic life due to obvious reason and my family and partner is ready to support me. I want to give my last and best shot,

Please suggest me if this option is worth

hello kalpesh. having a professional degree is really a treasure both financially and socially. the reward u r going to get after you finish ca will be just great. Dont go about with rumours that ca is normal degree like that. if ca is not worth then think abt other courses? then which course is worth doing? rumours abt ca are always made by those who couldnt clear ca after a couple of attempts. Always think positive. ya abt future of CA prifession, the value of ca will not diminish anyway. But this profession always depend upon talent and knowledge. Now a days companies want one with practical knowledge. So if u finish CA with a rich practical exposure then you can excell in this profession. else u will be a normal ca as someone told. So my sincere opinipn to u is go for it and achieve it... but with colours.. best of luck.

CA degree is always valuable............If u r interested ..........u may move on wid this career.............

Mr.Pawar,

The reason i told that it has become a normal course is because of the outcome of the campus recruitment conducted by  icai.

Some say that after finishing CA , you will get great reward...Dont get misguided by such flowery words.

Be pragmatic.

You are now 26 year old....Do you think any company will hire you as a CA trainee/ fresher at the age of 34-35?? surely "NO"...unless and untill you have strong reference.

Corporates wont give importance to your articleship training. So what is the use of you doing articleship for 3 years in CA firm at this advanced age which has got no meaning in the eyes of corporate employers????

Do you know the present scenario, there are hundreds of thousands of young chartered accountants are either searching for good job opportunities or under employed in small firms.

ICAI is not bothered about NEW CA's, all they are interested is how to increase the students strengh, how to trap them in to this CA course by creating CPT exams.....and so on....

They are not interested in changing the syllabus according to the market demand.

And one more thing i must tell you during articleship training, the atrocities of boss will be unbearble....keep that in mind.

HAving said that, if you get support from ur family both financially emotionally and you are confident enough that you will get job through stong reference then you go for it.....

if not then just forget about CA, explore new areas in ur current profile, try to joing well established company if you are not happy with your present company.....!

And live a simple and peaceful married life...

Dear All, First of all I would like to thank everyone for the honest opinions. I do have references in few small scale organizations where I will get a job, but I am really not interested in doing job as I was planning to practice as a CA by starting my own firm. Since my college days, I wanted to opt for CA course but I was aware about its long duration and I choose to go for MBA as its short duration as I had to support my family. Today market scenario is not good and MBA’s (from non B schools) do not have a good demand. I am thinking about CA option since last 1.5 years( still thinking on it) but was not able to take a firm decision whether to opt for it or not. Currently I am the only support to my family and during 3 years of article ship my partner/ family are willing to support me financially/ emotionally. I have 2 years service bond with my current employer and hence can’t leave this job till Sept 2014. As per my knowledge, IPCC requires 9 months practical training to appear for it. Please guide if there is any other way/scheme through which I can proceed for IPCC without any practical training. What should be my strategies to get a good demand in the market place after completing my CA course? What would be the possibilities of my career advancement if I startup CA practice at the age of 35 years – 36 years?rs? Please guide.

Why would you worry after 8  years? You don't hve to worry. The scope will definetely bloom on. If oyou want to do, just go for it!

Dear sir,

It is advisable for you to start doing CA, since it is your passion. And also, because you are settled now, there will not be any pressure on you to complete it early.

Regarding scope of CAs, i am very much sure that it will always expand rather than degrade. Now-a-days, because of employment problems, the course outlook is reduced, apart from that the quality remains the same. Because many newly qualified CAs do not have proper additional skills (like Communication skills, etc.) they are finding tough to find right jobs.

At the time you clear, you will have enough experience (though not in relevant field, neverthless it will be helpful).

The scope of a professional course depends upon how effectively and efficiently we are doing our work or we are willing to do it.. Mr. Kaplesh, it seems you are much more passionate about it and this is passion and love only which can make a person the "best" for the job he do.

Do not worry and apply for CA programme. Further its not going to take 8 years as you are an graduate so you will directly get registered at IPCE Level. Further this passion of yours will not let you fall down so you can have your degree in around 4-4.5 years only.

Thanks.

Dear All,

I have completed B.com with 1st class. I believe as per the new rule(direct scheme) , 9 months of practical training (article ship) is mandatory which is a basic criteria to qualify for  IPCC  Exam.

I can’t leave my job for minimum 2 years as I also need to support my family. Please suggest me a suitable option which can help me to appear for IPCC without any practical training. e.g CPT exam or any other option.

I really need an expert advice. Please help.

Even i want do my CA. I AM ACTUALLY A 12 CLASS STUDENT OF BENGALORE .I WANTED TO ASK FROM ANY OF CA PROFESSIONAL THAT 'IS CA A HECTIC JOB?;DOES IT REQUIRE A LOT OF WORKING HOURS? .PLEASE CLARIFY MY DOUBT.
