is there any procedure/formalities to be fulfilled with the ICAI for giving exam in new syllabus may-2011.
As the old syllabus is discontinued, now transition from old to new is automatic ?
please suggest.

According to my opinion, no formalities r required, if the registration procedures has been followed earlier. Transition to new syllabus is automatic. Look for other frnd opinion also

Is there some paperwork involved to switch to new course? Not sure..... they did ask final students who wished to appear for new course in Nov-10 to fill up a form. But That Was Then... As of today you are not left with an option to chose between old or new course. Going by what is in the announcements above I believe you are already registered.
However, it is always safe to check with ICAI and not rely on hearsay.
