CA from ICAEW

Hi I am doing CWA n have completed my B.Com. I would probably be completing CWA by Dec. 2011 or atmost June 2012. During this time I will also do M.Com. and will work in a CA firm for these 2 years (2010-2012).

After completing all these I am looking forward to do CA from ICAEW. I have mailed them to ask regarding the eligibilty requirements n they replied back that first I must try to secure a Training Contract in UK which is more important part for their CA. After that I can get enrolled for their ACA program. My question is whether my qualifications and work experience will benefit me or help me in securing a training contract in UK or not? And if not then what additional courses should I look upon? I have also heard of ACCA, another Accounting qualification of UK, and the advantage of it is that we can sit for their exams here in India and it has also good recognition in UK. But for that I have to spend 2 years more. I need guidance from our Senior and experienced members. I know it sound rubbish to ask questions related to future and we can never predict the future but that's what I am planning to do and really need some good advice on how should I approch towards my goals.

I wish to work Internationally in the field of Accounting and Finance, how appropriate would be the ACA from ICAEW to get a International recognition? I have only heard that it is considered as one of the best CA courses all over the world but don't know the reality. Please guide me on this.

recently icai has siged an MOU with icaew and as per the agreement any indian ca can get the icaew membership by appearing in just 2 or 3  papers of the aca qualification offered by icaew,so you can pursue ca frm icai and thereafter give those 2-3 papers and obtain their membership.

ICAI has siged an MOU with ICAEW and as per the agreement any indian CA can get the ICAEW membership by appearing in Prescribed   papers of the ICAEW ,, this option will be better ,,you need not get registered in uk for the work training ,since articleship training is a part of ca course in india  to get the ICAEW degree.

Thanks for ur prompt replies. I already knw abt the MOU between the ICAI n ICAEW. n I m also a registered student of ICAI. But I hv developed a personal bias against ICAI n I don't want to persue CA from ICAI coz of tht. I cleared CPT in the first shot with only 5 day prep. but the tragedy was tht I got only 101 which is just nearly passing the exam. N with those marks when I approached few CAs most of them were not eager to take me as a article saying tht they don't know me personally n thts why they won't take me n some rejected me saying my marks were very less n tht too in CPT like exam. Although I hv approched only few CAs i.e. only 5 n I should hv tried some more n I would definitely hv got articleship but whts the use of getting such articleship? this thing made me to develop a liitle bias against ICAI n CAs in India. I don't say tht all the members r like tht but thr r few who don't even knw how to talk to a person. they just think tht they r the only ones who hv cleared CA n they r the only genius ppl n all others r just stupid who can never clear CA coz they just get 101 in CPT(like me). I m sorry for saying all this but these were the reasons why I left CA.

Thts why I just want to go to UK to study for CA. N I m thinking just the opposite of wht U ppl suggested. I wish to persue CA frm there n then work for some years thr n then get back to India n get the membership of ICAI through tht MOU.

Thats Good choice   all the best.......

thanks.

Another thing I need to know that is it possible to train for the ACA here in India? Coz it is given in the website of ICAEW that one can get trained from anywhere if the firm is registered to train. We have Big 4s and also the UK firm Grant Thornton in India. Do they train for ACA?
