Yes there is a limit within which you need to register otherwise the attempt gets delayed by 6 months . 

A person who gets cleared in May attempt need to register on or before 31st October and a person who gets cleared in Nov Attempt needs to register on or before 30th April so that the attempt doesn't gets delayed ...
