CA curriculum may not be change another five years: ICAI

To avoid confusion among students, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided not to change the curriculum of CA subject for another four to five years, said its vice-president G Ramaswamy.

Responding to the felicitation organised by the Salem Branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here recently, Mr. Ramaswamy who has been recently elected, pointed out that the ICAI had taken a policy decision to this effect.

He further explained about how the ICAI was closely working with the Government of India in strengthening the Accounting System, framing the various taxation laws and accounting standards etc.

It also had been assisting the Nepal Government in re-organising the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal and conducting CA examinations in that country

G. Goudhaman, Chairman, Salem Branch of SIRC of ICAI, presided over the function. C. Valliappa, Chairman, Sona College of Technology N.V. Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Engineering College attended as guests of honour.

Those who spoke included vice-chairman, SIRC. K. Shanmukha Sundaram, SIRC member S. Murali (Coimbatore), Past Chairmen of Salem Branch S. Venkatraman and auditors G. Ranganathan, S.P. Chandra Guptha, V.S. Varadarajan, M.V. Rangarajan, V. Sakthivel, R. Suresh, L. Vijayan (Namakkal) and K. Shahjakhan (Krishnagiri).

The vice-president also distributed endowment awards to the meritorious CA students. Later workshop on the proposed introduction of “International Financial Reporting Standards,” was also organised. L.

Venkatesan from Chennai spoke on the proposed introduction of the International Financial Reporting Standards. Secretary, Salem Branch, V. Sudharsan thanked participants. More than 200 Chartered Accountants from Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and other places attended the function.

ICAI always talks in double meaning sentences. Wont IFRS, GST, DTC be included in the final examinations. When new acts/laws are included, it means that the syllabus is changed. I am sure, Krunal bro (Raichura) will be fuming a bit; and i agree with him; that ICAI should be considering inclusion of latest topics in subjects like Costing,FM,SMIT,MICS.
