CA at age of 46 years is good or ICWA or ICSI

I am 46 years and having exp in accounts 20 years and telugu medium student i have appeared ipcc may-2011 exam may be doubt i may not clear both group.

Shall i shift to icwa or icsi please advice

sir, i appreciate your quench for higher studies at the age of 46. this great i think that CA course will be better for you. you are right person for CA. ICAI needs such courageous person. i will recommend you to do CA. best of luck

Mr.Sivareddy,

Age should not be a constraint for any person as far as the person has interest and passion towards

any course. Having 20 yrs experience, i would also suggest you to proceed with CA.

All Professional courses are difficult but not impossible to breakthrough.

And do not worry ever of results, just give your best.

Your Experience of 20yrs with CA will add lot value to you.

What CA can Do?

Audit and Ancilliary Work (including cost audit)

( like providing consulting for Accounts, Management, ROC, Registration of Sales Tax or VAT Number, Merger and Acquisition etc..,)

What CWA can do?

Cost Audit and other ancilliary work

( like providing consulting for Accounts, Management, ROC, Registration of Sales Tax or VAT Number, Merger and Acquisition etc..,)

What CS can do?

Compliance and other ancilliary work

( like providing consulting for Accounts, Management, ROC, Registration of Sales Tax or VAT Number, Merger and Acquisition etc..,)

CA - AUDIT (4-5 YEARS)

CS - COMPLIANCE (2-3 YEARS)

CWA - MANAGEMENT (3-4 YEARS)

OTHER THINGS ARE SAME

in CA course 3 years articleship will be required. ICAI not allowed job with articleship. so you will leave the current job and will serve 3 years articleship.

on the other way CS or CWA , you need not to do articleship. your job experiance will count as tranning so 3 year or 1.5 year articleship will be exempted. according to me CS or CWA is good option.

sir i appreciate ur courag that u have really guts to do ca at this stage .and i thnk should learn frm u ....i was unusully thinkg tht "m very late FOR CA" .cos after 3 attempts at age of 24 years passed ipcc 1st grp ....was thinkg to drop CA agar may 2011 me 2nd grp clear nahi hua to.............really thnk fulll 2 u.......

Those who want to become a CA don’t take the age factors in to consideration. Please go through the following part of discussion.
About SD Bala ACA

Ø SD Bala is a co author of SFM book of V pattabhi Ram, snow white communications. He is also associated with Prime academy in many verticals.
Ø He was served State Bank of India for a period of 26 years and after attained the age of 56 (that is a retirement age) have an ambition to become CA.
Ø All the family members, friends and relative were opposed his decision since attaining CA course in the young age is a difficult task. This is the age of retirement, no career after attaining the retirement age.
Ø He started the article ship (Not dummy) in the age of 56 years. Though age wise he is 56 years old, but his mind is young.
Ø Finally he is qualified as CA 13 days before he attaining the age of 60 years.

Your Idea of doing professional course is fantastic,

If you want do C.A. you need to go for 3 year article ship, your experience will not count whether you knows more than articles.

So better to go for CWA ( Proposed name CMA ) as ICWAI always give importance to on- job training to person.

Also CA is good option if you want to go for the practice,

If you want to continiue for job than CWA ( Proposed name CMA ) is better option.

As pointed out earlier, if you can leave your job and do 3 years articleship, then please proceed with CA or else may choose between cs and icwa. icwa is preferable for you than CA because you have accounting experience which will be useful.
