Hello Jyotsna...I have been doing self study since the last one year...and i have my exams due on Nov this year...so I am suggesting you a few books that I think are the best and you can refer for self studies..

Financial Reporting - M P Vijay Kumar & ICAI's Module for those topics that are not in MP Vijay Kumar's book.

Strategic Financial Management - S D Bala

Corporate Law - Munish Bhandari

Audit - make a reading from the ICAI's audit module and revise it from Surabhi Bansal's Audit Book.

Costing - Saxena & Vashisht (it is the best Book for costing, but will take a lot of time..alternatively u can study from ICAI's module and ICAI's compiler...these two are sufficient enough)

Direct Tax Laws - V K Singhania (Its the best, but a bit lengthy, and u dnt need anything else except it, or u can go through T N Manoharan)

Indirect tax Laws - Yogendra bangar and bangar's compiler

ISCA - ICAI's Module

Accounting Standards - M P Vijay Kumar

thanks..

for S.F.M. S.D.bala is sufficient ??? and 1 que. have u used  T N Manoharan

Actually if you want to clear your concepts, then SD Bala is sufficient...for numericals you can refer to last 10 years compiler...this much is sufficient for SFM. And no, i have not used TN Manoharan, but many of my friends are studyng from it...its language is quite easy thats why people refer it...I have studied from VK singhania...and it is more than enough...u dont need anything else...if it takes one more attempt then dont hesitate...because at the end it is the knowledge that matters...thats why always go with the best.

FR - Avoid use of books : only refer class notes of any good teacher near you. Go for Praveen Sharma Class Notes (For Additional reading You may refer M P Vijay Kumar)

ASs - Sanjeev Singhal (BEST)

SFM - J B Gupta DVD Lactures plus book (BEST)

Audit - Padhuka (For Less important and Typical theory portion you can refer Surbhi Bansal

SAs - D S Rawat

Law - Munish Bhandari Handbook Plus Padhuka for Detailed Study

AMA - Padhuka plus Study Material and Practice Manual (P C tulsian (BEST but lengthy) is also good for Concepts it gives you easy steps to solve ques in exam).

ISCA - Manish Valechha ISCA - Memory Based Edn. and Practice Manual (The book is very Self Explanatory , all answers are given in easy to grasp manner. covers a lot of examples, diagrams, memory codes....No need to refer study material) use with practice manual only. (BEST)

Direct Taxes- T.N.Manoharan Plus Summary Module of Vinod Gupta (Prepare notes for lengthy and typical portion, if possible)

Indirect Taxes - Mohd Rafi  (BEST) for Concepts (Padhuka/banger for detailed Study and past exam questions)

Hi,

Though everyone has a choice whether to take classes or do self study, I believe self study is best method to score marks in any subject if the best books are available.  So following are my suggestions regarding best books for  CA final :

With all due respect to others people opinion, the following is the best :

Financial Reporting   -  Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian as per revised schedule VI  ( will be released in 1st week of August)

Advanced Management Accounting - Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian (Already in market)

Operational Research (OR) - Self study textbook by CA ( Dr.) P.C. Tulsian (Already in market)

DT  - Vinod Gupta Modules (Already in market)

IDT – Dippak Gupta Modules (Already in market)

Law – Munish Bhandari (Already in market)

ISCA – Study Material of ICAI

Audit –  Surbhi Bansal / TIPS notes + Institute compiler (Already in market)

SFM  - Not aware of any tailor made book  for CA-final which is comprehensive to cover all questions. Whichever book you refer,  just ensure to practice some additional questions from the last  Revision test Papers (RTP’s) issued by ICAI before every attempt. For Nov -13, you should practice  additional questions from Nov 2012, May 2013 and Nov 2013 RTP’s

Thanks
