Hi,

If I close a bank account in xyz bank as the bank does not have a branch in abc country do the bank deletes all the record while closing the account.

no info is deleted...
After closure of your accounts, the bank freezes your details. It will not delete the information for a specified period of time, as mandated by the regulator in various countries / jurisdiction.

Can you please tell what is the period in indian banks after which information is deleted.

well... they are reqd to preserve details for 8 yrs but normally it is kept for longer period. in few branches i have personally seen during statutory audit that records of 90s were also preserved properly.
