Can a new auditor demand from the retiring auditor for his working papers of an institution? IS the retiring auditor under obligation under any statute to fulfill the request of working papers demanded by the new auditor while issuing the NOC for the audit of the institution he was earlier auditing?

The retiring auditor is not bound to the working papers which he had collected/prepared during his audit proceeding because the working papers are the property of the auditor. The retiring auditor can provide these papers if he want to do so.
however, the retiring auditor cannot deny from furnishing the details watever the new auditor asks for...
