  • Students and members in 170 countries *

  • Office and centres in nearly 80 countries *

  • Partners worldwide *

Don’t miss out on gaining a qualification which opens up opportunities world wide. The ACCA qualification provides job opportunities in the following sectors:

  1. Financial Services: The course gives you such in-depth learning that joining the financial services sector is the next natural step. Thanks to globalisation businesses are not restricted to a single geographical area any more and so the International Financial Reporting Standards are soon becoming statutory requirements, in Brazil, Canada, China, Russia and India by 2011 and in the US by 2014. ACCA has developed rich course material covering all aspects of financial reporting.

  2. Public Practice: A large number of ACCA candidates join the public sector, especially the Big Four (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG & PricewaterhouseCoopers) although smaller practices are also lucrative.

  3. Industry/Commerce: Working for multi-national organisations is another lucrative opportunity. Dell, Shell, Steria to name a few; provide continuous employment opportunities to ACCA qualified professionals.

  4. Public Sector: ACCA qualified professionals can also work for:

    • Local Government Organisations

    • Charities

    • Education & Health Departments

    • Non-Profit organisations

All these areas provide ample job opportunity; opportunities to expand the skill set and use the knowledge in a manner which will produce optimum results for the organisation they serve. Finance is an area which is intellectually demanding and if you are serious about making a career in finance then the ACCA qualification is for you. It adds value to your resume and makes you stand out. This qualification with area specific and industry relevant experience makes it the first choice for any finance job.

sir..which is bettaer??CA OR ACCA??CAN u pinpoint some of the advantages of CA over ACCA??my friends are really confusing me..

CA IS BEST ONE, ACCA IS HAVE GOOD SCOPE BUT MORE INTO OUTSIDE OF INDIA, BUT CA HAS WORLD WIDE SCOPE, AFTER COMPLETING CA YOU CAN DO ACCA R CPA, IF YOU WANT TO CONTINUE ACCOUNTS SIDE, IF YOU WANT GO FINANCE SIDE THEN DO CA AND CFA(USA)...

BEST OF LUCK

Is there any exemption available in doing acca if v are a ca or cwa or a cs?..Coz i have cleared cwa final one grp & awaiting the result for the other..also going to complete 2.5yrs of articleship under pcc stream...

Dear All

It may be confusing for all of you which one is better but i think it is you to decide which one is better not others as you all are the future professional accountants.

Just compare

1. SCOPE (its recognition within countries)

2.Monitoring, Review and Amendment (How frequently the syllabus is updated to cope with the latest corporate scenario)

My message to all is all hard things may not be better just for example a stone breaker works hard to break the stones but think of his earnings. The competency does not lies in performing the responsibility but real competence and strength lies in managing the accountability.

I want to make you aware that ACCA updates its book every year to incude the latest issues of  corporate world. In addition to this you are well aware that India is going to adopt IFRS from 2011, and you can well strengthen your strength by studying papers Financial Reporting and Advanced Corporate Reporting based on IFRS .

So

friend decide which one is better, ACCA or CA (ha ha ha ha)

guys i hav alrdy provided a reply under a thread: Is acca equal to our indian CA? tat wud b helpful, i guess.

Mr. Balu" the helping hand"  have clearly pasted some of the ACCA homepage content.... i dnt knw how helpful is tat.... but here, am trying to help out those guys who hav a doubt on the scope of it.

 1. if ur prority lies in having a career in auditin, taxation etc, and to work in India, I wud ask u to go ahead with Indian CA.

But, if u r interested to have a similar career abroad  in the above mentioned areas

and  in areas like: Investment Banking, ast Mgt, VC/P.E and other Financial Service Sector, u better arm urslf wit a CFA(U.S) FRM etc. Thus it wud be clearly very difficult to multi-task and pursue such qual wen u r doing Indian CA, as its not designed to allow an avg CA student to pursue a 'very less related' course lik cfa f.r.m etc,,,, unlike courses-- icwa,cs .....

and for those plannin to work abroad,, the fact that ACCA , CPA etc are globally respected professional accounting certificates,,, brings in more advantages, like u need not pursue a different country specific course,,, and the cours is sufficiently flexible to allow u to pursue other internationally certified courses lik CIMA, CMA, CIA ,CFP...etc etc...(..... i tell u, expct huge pay packages abroad if u r multi qual and with exp.....)

Fundamental Accounting subjects for both Indian C.A and ACCA are the same, except tat ACCA 1.sylabus is constantly reviewed and changed, and the 2.sylbs is very much application oriented and 3.its IFRS compliant.....For those who are doubtful,, i wud ask u to take the trouble and go thru the past Qns: and ANS of ACCA exams, from a book provider named BPP.... u wud defintly note the level of application needed to answer ACCA exams... to mak it more simple for u, jst go thru the AUDIT AND ASSURANCE(F8) QNS AND ANS prepared by BPP..... way application orientd unlik pure theory ..

But its also not so dificult to pass the exam as ACCA doent create artificial demand,, by restricting students on the basis of 'demand-supply' governed pass rates, as of now. as the course is globally accepted( 170 countries) and also because Individual Paper passing system is followed unlik Group Syatem.... but let me tell u,, this too has disadvntgs.....but all these are not a worrying fact as long as u r preparing to pass not fail.......

hop u wud tak the rit step........... watevr u chose,,,,,, ur caliber, soft skills, aptitude, attitude and knowledge is valued more than the qual u hold.......

gud luk

regards

JTM

Very nice to see that some of you are actually interested in ACCA...

Mr Jose has given a really good insight into what the whole ACCA thing is about.

I would like to stress the fact that the application oriented exams that u face are really challenging ones if u really compare it with the CA papers...and that really makes  a pass in an ACCA paper more meaningful than the other one...thats one of the main attraction that I've seen so far..keep updated guys

All the very best

Rony
