Hello,

I am so happy & thrilled to pass both groups of IPCC at 1 attempt.

i need some guidance to join articleship & CA final.
My queries are as follows: Please reply..

1. What should I do now? register for articleship or register for final or attend CA final classes first or appear for interview at CA firms?
2. I also want to attend CA final classes. So, how can I manage both articleship & classes?

3. What is your opinion about doing training in big4? What i have to do for this? Is recommendation required?

4. Is there any demerit in doing articleship in big4?
5. What is the procedure (forms, DD, fees, last date) to register for final & articles?

Hoping for a fast reply...i dont what to do....

Heartly Congrats Mr.Arjun M.K For Passing IPCC in first attempt.

Its a Dream Come true for everyone.

My answers for your questions are as follows

1.Dont register for Ca final Now itself,as there is an advantage.Its,Change of Study texts,concepts such inclusion or exclusions may happen.When your Final attempt is 2.5 years later,There might be changes to occur.so be patitent and register before Oneyear of your attempt.So that u get Upto Date Books and refer Directly.

Also appear for Interviews,Build good Knowledge.

2.Join Classes before 1.5years of Final attempt.Although its better to join now,but take a break..Learn Plenty things in articles,cos once you join classes you might be confused shuffling between Audits and Classes..so it may become Uneasy.

Its always better to study final syllabus,any point of time.

3&4.Doing articles has both advantages and also DisAdvantages.Advantages are Knowledge,Exposure,Learning in vast areas,serving big clients,paypackages..and etc.Disadvantages are You get loess time to manage tutuons,FewLeaves,and they wont listen to your personal issues as in Mid size firms CA's understand and permit us specially for Classes etc..

Login to their sites,look at careers..Its even better if there are any BigFour places known to you..Visit them,meet Persons working,get to know directly about openings.Importantly Recomendation plays keyrole in BigFour.

5.Visit your Icai chapter,Get info there.bcoz i cant answer this.

Note-Its just my opinion out of knowledge i have,Its always better to have your own opinion.

thank you for the valuable information.

i have heard a lot about issues as below and these are my doubts :

1. in big4 if u get into one dept you wont be able to change later on and therefore wil be stuck in one dept only and wont be able to learn enough

2. what do we choose..exposure and learning in big4 or linient study in med firms???

3.what is better tax or audit, for articleship.

Congrats 4 clearing IPCC

my advice will be that u may join small firm bcz i had well experience in joining medium firm

But now i took Transfer in small Firm n learing many things instead of duing AUDIT only in middle or big firm.

N the rest is upto U.

Hi Abhilekha,

It is not necessory that mediorcre firms can't give good exposure or they will be to liberal to give you as many as leaves(which is not good at the cost of learning).

Your objective should be to gain knowledge & experience and simultaneously balancing studies. You should search for the firms, talk to them about the kind of work available with them, their leave policies etc.

Every firm is aware of the fact that Articles's goal is to become CA and they will not compromise with studies. So accordingly Firms leave policies & work available with them is defined.

You can proactively call at firms.
