Are small income tax refund amounts ignored?

441 views 1 replies
I submitted ITR-1 online followed by ITR-V and these were processed correctly for the AY 2012-13. However the income tax paid was a little more than required amount (about Rs100). I thought this will be refunded automatically. But till date this had not been refunded. I checked the refund/demand status page and the status for the AY was written as "Not Determined". What should I do? The amount is small and not that important but I want to know the procedure. This year a larger TDS had been deducted and hopefully I will receive more refund. So please clarify. (Is it necessary that the tax return be filed by some advocate/expert rather than by myself to get refund?)

You can contact CPC Bangalore on phone & question them about your refund.  It's does not matter if teh return is filed by you or by a CA as the matter would be the same provided that you are aware about preparing the return.

If you have any doubt you can provide the copy of the excel utility to an expert and get it verified if it si correct.
